Our Journey
Founder: Dhanashree Bate
The Beginning of Craft
Our story began with a simple sewing machine and a passion for craftsmanship. In 1995, my parents started a small tailoring practice, stitching clothes for people in our community. What began as a modest livelihood slowly built a foundation of skill, dedication, and hard work that would later inspire something much bigger.
Growing Through Skill
Over the years, their tailoring work grew through experience and trust. By continuously improving their skills and serving the local community, they built a strong reputation for quality craftsmanship and reliability.
A New Direction During Lockdown
When the COVID-19 lockdown happened, clothing orders dropped drastically. Instead of stopping their work, my parents decided to explore eco-friendly products. In Khopoli, along with local women’s groups, they began stitching eco-friendly bags, marking the beginning of a more sustainable journey.
A Difficult Turning Point
In 2022, our family went through a heartbreaking loss when my mother passed away. It was a very difficult phase in my life. Around the same time, I also lost my job, which pushed me to rethink my path and future.
The Birth of the Brand
Determined to continue my mother’s dream, I decided to turn our family’s experience into something meaningful. In 2023, I founded Bate Eco Goods, focusing on creating eco-friendly jute bags that support sustainability and reduce plastic usage.
Crafting a Greener Future
Today, Bate Eco Goods is more than just a brand. It represents resilience, sustainability, and family legacy. Every bag we create carries a story of craftsmanship and a commitment to building a greener future.
